Child safety standards

These are the standards for the protection of children and young people for the app Pin & Tonic. The provider is PentzStudio One, owner David Pentz. Address and contact details are in the legal notice. These standards apply to the app on every platform on which we offer it.

Where we stand

Pin & Tonic is for adults only. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) have no place here. We do not tolerate them under any circumstances and in any form. This holds regardless of whether minors are present in the app. We are set up on the basis that it can happen despite all precautions.

What is prohibited

These rules are also part of our Terms of Use and of the agreement every person who uses the app enters into with us.

How we keep minors out

Use is permitted only from the age of 18. When a profile is created, we ask for the date of birth. If it is less than 18 years ago, our server rejects the profile. The date of birth cannot be changed afterwards.

We say openly what these precautions do not achieve: they do not stop anyone who deliberately states a false age. That is why the reporting routes below are part of the same protection.

Photos only exist on Pin & Tonic once two people have met and both have confirmed the meeting in the app. A photo can be seen only by the person the meeting took place with.

How to report something

Inside the app you report any person and any individual recording without leaving the app. You will find the option in the profile, in the chat and on every recording you get to hear. For the suspicion that someone is a minor there is a dedicated reporting reason, "Seems underage". For anything that puts people at risk there is the reporting reason "Safety issue". The reported person does not learn who reported them.

You can also block a person. After that, neither of you sees the other any more.

You can write to us at any time: contact@pentzstudio.one, subject "Child safety".

You do not need to be certain in order to report. A suspicion is enough.

What happens after a report

If someone reports a person or one of their recordings with the reason "Seems underage", we restrict that person immediately for 24 hours: they can no longer be seen on the map, cannot send requests and cannot receive them. This happens before a human has reviewed the report. A report by a single person whose account is not blocked and not currently restricted itself is enough.

We look at every report as quickly as possible, and reports concerning minors and concerning safety usually within 24 hours. These reports are handled first.

If the suspicion is confirmed, we remove the content and block the account permanently and without prior warning. A blocked account disappears from the map immediately.

How we handle child sexual abuse material

As soon as we obtain knowledge of such material in Pin & Tonic, we remove it and block the account it came from. We report it to the competent law enforcement authorities in Germany (police and the Federal Criminal Police Office, BKA) and give them the information they need for prosecution. We pass such material to no one else.

Where there are indications that the life or safety of a person is at risk, we inform law enforcement or judicial authorities without delay.

Laws

We comply with the laws for the protection of children and young people that apply in Germany and in the European Union.

Child safety point of contact

Questions about child safety at Pin & Tonic, from authorities, platform operators or users, go to contact@pentzstudio.one, subject "Child safety". David Pentz is responsible for this, knows our review and blocking procedures and is able to act.

Review

We review these standards at least once a year and whenever the app, the legal position or the app store requirements change materially. The version on this page is the one in force.

This is a translation for convenience. The German version is the original. Deutsche Fassung.
